How to see traffic delays on Google Maps (desktop)

Simply open Google Maps. Sign in with your Google account. Search the particular area or place where you want to get to. Hover the Layers button at the left-bottom corner, and select Traffic.

Wait for a few seconds, and it will show you the traffic in that area.

Traffic colors and their meaning on Google Maps

Now that you have shown the traffic on Google Maps, you are seeing color lines that indicate how severe or not severe the traffic delays are. Here are the colors and what they mean:

  • Green lines: no traffic delay.
  • Orange lines: medium traffic delay.
  • Red lines: severe traffic delay.
