Amazon gives you access to Prime Video from almost any device (smart TV, Android, iPhone/iPad, your PC, a web browser, gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox). With this variety of devices, new Prime Video users might get confused about how to sign out an Amazon Prime Video account everywhere.
Amazon Prime Video provides a way for users to sign in and sign out every time they want, but it might not be straightforward. Especially when you have signed in to the account on your TV, Xbox, PlayStation, Android, or iPhone.
This post gives you detailed steps by steps on how to sign out of a Prime Video account on all devices, whether that will be through an individual device or all devices at once.
How to sign out of Amazon Prime Video
You can sign out of Amazon Prime Video on TV, Android, iPhone, Xbox, PlayStation, PC, or browser by de-registering each device either directly from the Amazon website or the device you want to log out the account of.
What does “de-register” or “register” mean?
Amazon Prime Video uses the “register” term that essentially has the same meaning as signing in, and uses the “de-register” term as signing out. The term is used likely due to the Prime Video’s device, streaming, and download limit that prevents you from streaming and downloading a particular number of videos on different devices using the same account at a particular time.
At this time of writing, Amazon Prime Video documentation states that you can’t stream more than three movies/TV shows simultaneously with the same Amazon account. You can’t also stream the same movies/TV shows on more than two devices at the same time.
If you want to sign in to a new device and you want to watch all movies and TV shows at any time, you have to ensure you have signed out of devices that anyone else actively uses. If other people use your Amazon Prime Video account and happen to watch the same content, someone has to either sign out or stop watching.
Amazon also applies a similar limitation to its Kindle that requires you to register and de-register a device you want to use Kindle on.
Signing out of a device or all devices at once
When you subscribe to Amazon Prime Video, you must register a device that you want to use to watch your subscription. You can register your iPhone, Android, PC, a smart TV, as well as some Xbox and PlayStation models or generations. To sign out is simply to de-register.
Signing out can sometimes become important, too. For example, trying to fix your Prime Video problem on Samsung TV or any other brand that supports Amazon Prime Video.
Each device provides a different method to log out of Amazon Prime Video. You can sign out on each device manually if you want to keep being signed in on other devices. You can also choose to do it everywhere (on all devices) at the same time if you wish to.

How to log out of Amazon Prime Video on a smart TV using a remote
Amazon Prime Video on a smart TV provides a sign-out button you can use to log out of the device. You can do this on any smart TV (for example, Samsung TV, LG TV, and Apple TV) but this post uses Roku as an example using its remote.
You might see slightly a different user interface on a different smart TV, but generally, the methods to de-register or sign out should be the same.
Open your Amazon Prime Video on your Roku device or your smart TV. Highlight the Settings button using your D-pad on the Roku remote.
Now, use the Roku remote to highlight the Deregister Your Device button in the Settings menu. Press OK.
Amazon Prime Video will then ask you to confirm whether you want to deregister your device or log out of Amazon Prime on Roku. Use the Roku remote to highlight Deregister Your Device again.
Again, Amazon asks you to confirm if you’re sure to log out of Prime Video on Roku. Highlight OK using the remote and then press OK on your remote.
You will see a success message when your Amazon Prime Video account has been successfully signed out of Roku/TV.
Now, press OK again to go to the homepage of your Roku home screen.
When you launch Prime Video again, you will be asked to log in with your account. This is where you can sign in with a different Amazon Prime account.

How to sign out of Amazon Prime Video on Android and iPhone
Signing out of Amazon Prime Video on Android and iPhone requires the same method, which is to de-register. However, you might find it difficult to look for the de-register button.
The Prime Video app provides you with two methods to sign out: 1) sign out of all devices including the Android and iPhone, and 2) sign out of an Amazon account on all Amazon apps installed on Android/iPhone.
Sign out of all devices on Android/iPhone
This post uses the Android version of the app as an example. You might see a slightly different user interface on the iPhone version.

To open your profile, tap My stuff. Select the gear icon to open the Settings.
Tap Registered devices.
Under the device that you want to sign out Amazon Prime Video account, tap Deregister.
When it shows “Are you sure?”, tap the button again to sign out.
Sign out on all Amazon apps on the same device only
Open the Prime Video app > My stuff > Settings > Sign in as [your account name]. Select Sign out to sign out the account on all Amazon apps on that same Android/iPhone.
How to log out of Amazon Prime Video on all devices at once from the Amazon website
You can log out of Amazon Prime Video on Roku, Samsung, LG, Apple TV, or any other smart TV, as well as on Android, iPhone, Xbox, and Playstation directly from the website. This is where you can deregister any device from your Prime Video account without pressing the remote of your smart TV and manually opening the app on your Android/iPhone.
You can do this on a PC using a browser like Google Chrome. You can also do the same on your Android or iPhone using a web browser.
To log out of Amazon Prime on your devices, visit the Amazon Video Settings page. Log in with your Amazon account > Your devices. Click the Deregister button on any device you want to log out of. For example, if you want to log out of a smart TV, click the button on the right side of the TV name.
Click Your devices. Click Deregister to sign out.
The button will turn into “Are You Sure?”. Click that button to confirm signing out of Amazon Prime on the device.
Then, the web page will reload automatically and your smart TV, Android, iPhone, or any device name will be lost on your “Your device” list.
Amazon Prime Video provides a few methods to log out of your account on any device you want, but with a term called “deregister”. Signing out can be beneficial to let you enjoy all movies and TV shows on a device without the streaming or downloading limitations.
