How to Create Brochure
One of the easiest way to make a brochure with Word is by using an already existing brochure template. Microsoft Word in itself doesn’t provide template brochures, but you can download those brochures online through Microsoft Word. This means your computer have to be connected to the internet to see and download professional brochure templates.
Open Microsoft Word. Click New.

You will immediately see many Word document templates there, from brochure, calendar, and invoice. If you want to make a brochure using template, search brochure on the search bar and press Enter with your keyboard. You’ll see many brochure template available for free.
You can see restaurant brochure, education brochure, travel brochure, nonprofit brochure, or any kind of brochure you would like to create. Click one of those brochure template.
Now, you will see a preview of how the brochure template would look like. You can see the download size and who made that brochure template. You can click Create to make a brochure based on that template, specifically a travel brochure for instance.
You will immediately see the brochure template here. It is a trifold brochure, or three panel brochure, with already existing content there. You can edit that content later.
If it looks too wide, you can zoom out make it visible to see the entire brochure.
Now, let’s enter your brochure content. You can insert as much as content you want to. If you want to edit the brochure template element or color, you can do so just like editing a normal Word document. Making a brochure isn’t that hard using Microsoft Word. You can also insert many picture.

How to Save a Brochure Document in Word
You may be done with your brochure today, and want to continue the editing later. To save the brochure in Word, just click the File tab.
Now, click Save. You can choose many folder location choices depending on your habits. If you want to browse the folder, just click the Browse.
Now, click Save to save the brochure once you’ve found your desired folder location.
How to Print a Brochure on Word
If you’ve done editing and creating your brochure on Microsoft Word, it is time to print them.
Before printing the brochure, it is wise to prepare the paper. The paper size for brochure will vary depending on your needs, but usually they come with Letter size if you make a trifold brochure.
Here’s a simple list on popular brochure paper sizes:
- 11” x 25.5”
- 9” x 12”
- Tabloid size: 11” x 17”
- Memo size: 5.5” x 8.5”
- Legal size: 8.5” x 14”
- DIN A4: 8.3” x 11.7” (or 21.0 cm x 29.7 cm)
- Letter size: 8.5” x 11” (or 21.59 cm x 27.94 cm)

Click File tab. Click Print. Make sure the printer is connected to your PC, and double check everything before printing to save more paper from being wasted.
How to Make Brochure with Microsoft Word from A Blank Document
Microsoft Word has another method for users to create a brochure from scratch. You can create a plain, a blank brochure simply by using this method. The rest is your creativity to make how your brochure will look like on your own. But don’t worry, we’ve simplified everything you need to create a professional brochure from a blank page.
Open Microsoft Word.
Click New. Click Blank document.
Now, you’ve to change the orientation of the document. This is what a brochure orientation usually is. Click Layout, and select Orientation, then click Landscape.
Now, the brochure uses the landscape. Let’s change the margins so you have more space to edit your brochure.
Click Margins. Click Narrow. Or, you can change margins on Word on your own by clicking Custom margins.
Now, the last thing you need is by changing the column of your brochure. The column of a brochure depends on your needs. If you want to create a trifold brochure, it should be with three columns. If you want a double sided brochure, select two. If you want more column, click More columns.
The rest of the process of making a brochure is now on your own. You can write the content of the brochure, inserting pictures, elements through shapes, and changing font and styles on your own without having to continue an already existing brochure template.
