How to Sign Out of Microsoft Account on All Devices

There’s a moment when you have to change your password to improve your Microsoft account’s security. But it’s not enough. Here’s how to sign out of Microsoft account on all devices.
If you found an unusual sign-in activity to your Microsoft account and you don’t remember that you were trying to sign in, it’s not great to ignore the warning and keep the same password for your Microsoft account.
Microsoft usually provides you a way to immediately change your password but that doesn’t sign out of your Microsoft account on a device where the hacker accesses your account. The hacker could keep accessing your account without the need to know your new password.
The only way to make your Microsoft account more secure is by changing your password then signing out of your Microsoft account on all devices, so the hacker would not be able to access your account anymore because now they have to sign in with your new password.
But, Microsoft isn’t clear enough about its own method to sign out of all devices. Actually, there’s a way, and that with just a few clicks.
How to sign out of Microsoft account from all devices
Keep in mind that this method won’t sign out of your Microsoft account immediately. You will need to wait about 24 hours after you do these methods for your account to get signed out.
You can sign out of your Microsoft account on any device that you have access to. Whether that would be Windows 10 PC, an Android, an iPhone, or anywhere. With a browser, of course.
Simply access the Microsoft website. Sign in to your Microsoft account. Click your profile picture. Then select My Microsoft account.
There’s a security box in there. Click Update.
You will be asked to enter your password to confirm.
Click Get started on the Advanced security options section.
On this page, scroll down until you find Sign me out. You can read that Microsoft requires 24 hours to sign out of your account from all devices. Click Sign me out.
24 hours after doing the above steps, you’re going to see that you’ve been signed out of your Microsoft account, including on your own device that you regularly use, meaning all devices you used to sign in now stop being able to access your account.
For example, the Microsoft Edge will show you the Sign in button to sign in to your Microsoft account with your new password.
Your Windows 10 PC will show a warning that there’s a Microsoft account problem, saying “We need to fix your Microsoft account (most likely your password changed). Select here to fix it in Shared experiences settings”.
As well as your OneNote app on every device you use. You will see the Saved offline (sign in required) message. Now the hacker won’t be able to access your OneNote pages.
Microsoft provides a way to log out of your account from all devices, but it takes 24 hours to get it done. Of course, the above steps won’t be effective if you haven’t changed your password.
