How to Tag Someone on Instagram Story
Tagging someone on Instagram story is easy. Just open the Instagram story, then create a new story by tapping “Your Story” button which is your profile picture.
Now, you can either post a picture on story then add a text or you can just post a story that contains only text. This allows you to tag someone’s Instagram username and they will get the notification which allows them to repost your Instagram story (and you can share someone’s Instagram story you’re not tagged in, too).
You can now tap Send to button to share and publish the story.
Now, just simply tap Share button at Your Story. You’ve tagged someone on the Instagram story and shared it.
How to Tag Someone on Instagram Comment
You can also tag people on the comment. People who you tag will also get the notification and can see the post where you tagged them.
To tag someone on Instagram comment, simply write a comment and type “@” then follow it with the username of people you want to tag. A list of Instagram users will show up, and you can choose the person you want to tag without having to write the full username. Tap Post.
How to Tag People on Instagram Photos
You can tag people on Instagram photos pretty easily to make others know which person is in the picture. When people tap the picture, Instagram will show their username but you have to tag the username yourself.
To do this, simply upload a new Instagram photo. Tap the plus button, then choose the picture. Tap Next.
Tap Next. Tap Tag People to tag someone.
Instagram will let you tap any area of the photo for the tag. You tap the face. Then search for a user, which is the person you want to tag. Tap the checkmark when done. Then, tap Share to finally publish the Instagram post with a tag in it.
How to Tag Someone on Instagram After Posting
Instagram allows you to tag people after posting. This solves the problem of people who tag the wrong person or didn’t tag someone and now want to tag them.
To do this, you can tap the kebab button at the photo you want to tag, then tap Edit.
Now, tap the area you want to tag. Search for the Instagram user you want to tag. Tap the checkmark button after each is done.
You will see the tag of the username and the location. After everything is done, simply tap the checkmark button again.
Can You Tag Someone on Instagram Story After Posting?
Unfortunately, you can’t. Instagram currently doesn’t have a feature that allows you to edit your story content or edit the tagged username in the story. If you have tagged the wrong person or didn’t tag and want to tag someone, you can delete the older story and create a new one with the right tag inside.

Yes, you can. You can even tag random words if you will. You can do that by tapping the kebab button then tap Edit. Choose the area you want to tag, and search for your own username. Tap the checkmark button.
