Using the SmartCast TV allows you to enjoy a better entertainment experience than using your phone. But this sometimes has its own issue: “SmartCast TV Not Available” message.
Vizio SmartCast is a device that lets you control your smartphone through a larger screen with a greater picture. This is great for watching movies, listening to music, and more by mirroring your smartphone display, which supports Netflix, Disney+, and more streaming services.
There is a moment when SmartCast TV just isn’t working, or showing a message saying “SmartCast TV Not Available”. Regardless of the error causes, there are some ways to fix this.
How to fix “SmartCast TV Not Available”
This error message might not be caused by the same thing. Thus, you probably need to do one or more of these solutions.
Completely restart your SmartCast to erase temporary configs
This method will erase temporary configurations and is easy to do. It just takes some minutes to turn off your SmartCast and turn it on again.
To do this, simply select the menu button and choose System.
Then click the Reset & Admin. Then choose the Soft Power Cycle. Disable your Wi-Fi router.
Wait for one minute. Then turn your SmartCast TV on, as well as the router.
If the problem still persists, then try this:
Turn off the SmartCast TV through the power button.
Unplug your SmartCast from the power outlet. Then wait for one minute.
Now, simply plug it again then turn on the SmartCast TV.
Reset the SmartCast TV
if your problem still persists after you have done the above methods, you can reset the SmartCast TV.
To do this, simply go to the Settings.
Go to the Reset & Admin.
Choose the Reset TV to Factory Defaults. Enter 0000 as the password. Select Reset.
Make sure the internet connection is fine
SmartCast requires a good internet connection. If your internet connection isn’t fast enough, you might get problems like this. You can check your internet speed easily from internet speed checker websites (Google them).
Check the DHCP settings
There are settings that influence the connectivity issues that persist on your SmartCast TV.
To do this, turn off your TV. Open your router’s IP address in a browser. Sign in to the website with a username and password.
Most routers will have the Settings page. Go to that page and then the Network settings.
Check for DHCP settings. Enable it if it is disabled. But disable then enable it again if it is enabled already.
Save these settings. Turn on the SmartCast TV.
Switch to a different network
If your network isn’t good when connecting to SmartCast, you might need to switch to a different network. Or, your internet provider might not compatible with SmartCast. Or, your internet isn’t in the right region, which may cause a message saying Smart TV is not available in your region.
If you think you’re in the right region where SmartCast is available, then your network suggests otherwise. Check for your DNS settings and make sure you’re not using a VPN on the router.
Vizio SmartCast TV, one of the popular devices to mirror your phone, sometimes has an issue. Hopefully, the above solutions work for you so you can enjoy watching movies using the SmartCast.
